When a consumer scans a QR code using their phone, they are usually linked to a specific website page that has information about the product, company or service, or a promotional offer.
Our QR code advantage
Unlike our retail barcodes, QR codes are based on information you supply, and their size varies on the amount of information required. Each QR code is unique. Our system automatically sizes the QR code so it scans well based on the amount of encoded data.
To ensure your physical QR code has a longer life span, we recommend programming your QR code with a QR redirect. This allows you to redirect your QR code to different links in the future, multiple times, without changing the physical QR code. You can implement this yourself, or choose the dynamic QR code option below to have us provide this service.
Free QR code generators/apps
As you can see, there are some extra considerations with QR codes that makes it worthwhile using a paid service where we can advise you, but of course free online QR code generators do work fine assuming you have the right strategy for what data to encode, its output size and how to make them last as long as possible. Very few ‘free’ QR code generators are actually free without restrictions – please check how many scans of your QR code you are allowed, and how long the QR code will work for.
How to choose and buy our QR code service
Enter the web link (or other data) you want encoded into the QR code on the checkout page. The barcode images will be emailed to you.
We offer standard and dynamic QR codes. Standard QR codes encode your information (normally a web link) directly, so the web link cannot be changed. Our dynamic QR codes use our URL redirection service that allows you to change the destination link at any time – perfect for increasing the lifespan of your QR code. This option features optional tracking, allowing you to see how many times your QR code has been scanned.

Please note, these are not a substitute for retail barcodes – you still need EAN or UPC barcodes if you are selling your product at retail.
